Arizona Tile donated a slab of granite for the kitchen countertops for our cottages. But, a lot of work must be done to convert a slab into a countertop. The slab must be cut to the desired length and width. Holes must be cut for the sink and faucet. Edge pieces are crafted and secured to the top, and the countertop must be polished to a smooth, glossy finish. Chris Geldert reached out to Jarrod Wimpee for help. Jarrod learned CAD/CAM skills in Chris’ class at SMHS and is now CAD/CAM Manager for So Cal Counterworks. Jarrod asked Jade Rodier, President of So Cal Counterworks, if they could help us with our project. Jade was quick to say yes, and named Meredith Gugler as our project manager.
