Chris Geldert met Miguel Alvarado, owner of Advanced Tile, on March 22, 2021, at a house under construction in Encinitas. The site visit was arranged for Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA) instructors by Barbie Davis of Mission West Builders. Chris told Miguel about our program and the challenges we faced completing our cottages after SMHS had shifted to remote learning. Miguel said that he wanted to help. He visited our Wounded Warrior Homes ADU in Vista on March 30, and offered to install tile in the shower stall. Unfortunately, by the time we had the shower stall prepped for him his work schedule had filled up until December, and he was not able to schedule a crew to install the tile. Miguel still wanted to help us, so he gave us all of the tile materials we needed for both of our cottages. Thanks, Miguel!
